Our office has invested in advanced technologies that allow us to place dental implants with a guided surgical stent, this CAD/CAM process greatly increases the ease of surgery and prognosis for a successful implant restoration.
First, a Cone Beam Radiograph is taken which provides a 3D view of your jawbones and surrounding structures. Second, using CEREC technology, digitally acquired or scanned physical models are obtained to provide a highly accurate view of your teeth. These two files are then combined in our software to digitally place needed implants in the precise location to avoid vital structures and maximize implant depth and angulation. A stent is then either 3D printed or milled to aid at the time of implant placement.
Our Wake Forest implant dentist can handle most cases in every aspect of dental implants. This process includes, but is not limited to, tooth extraction with bone or tissue grafting, guided surgical implant placement, and final restoration delivery. By grouping the entire implant process together, we can offer a comprehensive package to save you time and money while delivering a superior product and experience.
Do not let missing teeth affect your life. Dental implants are a strong and long-lasting option for restoring the natural ability to chew and smile with confidence. Once the titanium posts are implanted in the jawbone, either a dental crown is used to replace missing teeth or the implant provides a secure post for new or existing dentures.
In the case on one or a few missing teeth, the crown restoration is custom fabricated to match the shape and color of the surrounding teeth. If the adjacent teeth do not need crowns, an implant is considered a more conservative option than a dental bridge as you do not have to cut down healthy teeth for support.
If you have a current loose denture or no teeth at all, dental implants can provide a secure platform to fix your denture in place. This gives you back the full function, esthetics and confidence of your natural teeth.
In researching dental implants for tooth loss, most people are curious to know:
When weighing the cost of dental implants, many patients consider the long-term value they offer. Implants, once placed, are like a regular tooth in that they do not require any special care beyond brushing and flossing, unlike partial and full dentures which may involve adjustments, and special cleaning. Many patients view dental implants as an investment in the future of their oral health. With proper care, implants can last a lifetime.
Every case is different, and our dental implant dentists and team will give you a personalized quote for services based on your individual circumstances. We offer a free consultation at our Wake Forest office for dental implants. The consultation will cover the full scope of the process, from assessing your missing teeth, to talking about the implant procedure, and fabrication of a permanent dental crown to replace the missing tooth or teeth.
In regards to your personal commitment of time, many are able to get dental implants quicker than they think possible. Depending on your schedule and availability, appointments can be made close together. The dental implant will be placed and given time to heal. The implant post is made of titanium, which heals or “osseointegrates” to your bone. A temporary dental crown may be affixed while your custom and permanent crown is crafted. Lastly, you will return to get the permanent crown affixed. Most patients experience very little discomfort or down-time while getting a dental implant.
Dental implants are placed after numbing and pain management is in place. Once the numbness subsides, there is often minimal discomfort. Since there is not a lot of pain associated with dental implants, our patients are genuinely surprised at how well they feel post-operatively. Your comfort is a top priority for us, and we’ll be available to address how you feel before, during, and after the procedure.
Dental implants provide a highly successful means of replacing missing teeth. Patients will be assessed to ensure they have healthy gums and enough bone to support the implant before starting the procedure. Excellent oral hygiene and regular dental checkups will ensure the long term success of your implants.
